HEAD OF DEPARTMENT Professor Dr. Robert Vermeiren, M.D, PhD
Robert Vermeiren is professor of child and adolescent psychiatry (LUMC) and professor of forensic youth psychiatry at the Vu University Medical Center, Amsterdam. In addition, Robert Vermeiren has an appointment as research affiliate at the Yale Child Study Center, New Haven, USA.
His research focuses on the developmental psychopathology of externalizing disorders during adolescence. Focus is both on delinquent at risk groups (e.g. detention centers or children in contact with the police) and normal population samples. Population based research is done as part of a multicenter study, with emphasis on cross-cultural comparison. Research in delinquent at risk groups focuses currently on longitudinal follow-up, and includes classical diagnostic instruments as well as neurobiological markers. E-mail: info@curium.nl
