English translation:
Natasja van Lang is a psychologist and as senior researcher, she coordinates the neuro-imaging research line and studies about social emotional behaviour.
Her research interests focus on children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders and children with anxiety and depressive disorders. In her PhD, she investigated how autistic children and adolescents processed information (according to the weak central coherence theory), and looked for a different symptom structure that might better describe autism than the DSM triad. In addition, she was involved in several other research projects that concerned for instance, community based follow-up studies of children and adolescents with internalizing symptoms, and a neurophysiology study of clinical children with anxiety disorders.
She is currently involved in a study that aims to investigate changes in the neural circuitry of emotion regulating skills in youngsters with anxiety and depressive disorders and youngsters who have experienced psychotrauma, and in a study that aims to improve the assessment of social emotional problems in clinical children and adolescents.
